'I think it's impossible not to': Mikel Arteta opens up about bringing the stress of Arsenal management home

Mikel Arteta has been open to taking the stress that comes with managing Arsenal home.

2021/22 by Arsenal

Opening the 2021/22 Premier League campaign has been a mixed affair for Arsenal, to say the least.

The Gunners would start the season losing 2-0 to Brentford and Chelsea before being crushed 5-0 by Manchester City.

This left Arsenal at the bottom of the Premier League with a difference of -9 goals after just three games.

Fortunately for the North London team, they were able to get a great 1-0 win over Norwich last weekend.

This took Arsenal out of the bottom three and probably put some pressure on Arteta.

Arteta on the stress of managing Arsenal

However, the Spaniard is likely still under immense pressure and, when speaking after Norwich, he has opened up to the stress of being Arsenal’s manager.

The internet, and people in general, are quick to make jokes at the expense of Arsenal and other teams when they are fighting, but it’s easy to forget that these are real people facing these fights.

And now, Arteta has shared her thoughts on the stress of being in charge of Arsenal and bringing that stress home.

Speaking of taking home the stress of Arsenal’s management, the Spaniard stated:

“I think it is impossible not to.

“That’s why when you see your kids running around you and your wife trying to change the subject and see everything from a different perspective, it’s so helpful.

“That negativity has to go away. You have to keep in mind that first of all you are doing everything possible to your best ability, and do not fool yourself or make excuses. Normally the easiest thing to do is blame the players: ‘They are not good enough. I have this, I have that. ‘ And then you try to overtrain them.

“I wasn’t willing to do that because they don’t deserve it in the first place. The people in this club don’t deserve it. “
