Everton’s team of the day for the club’s meeting with Burnley tonight has been confirmed, with both positive and negative news for Toffees fans.

Clash of clarets

Of course, the last Premier League game of the weekend will be played in less than an hour.

The clash in question will see Everton welcome Burnley to Goodison Park, for the respective clubs’ first outing at the back of the international break.

The Everton hosts are heading to procedures undoubtedly confident of securing all three points, having enjoyed a solid start in life with Rafael Benitez, en route to seven points out of nine available.

Meanwhile, a third win in four tonight would see the Blues rise to the top of the English top flight, alongside everyone from Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, in the days leading up to his team’s last outing, one concern has lingered on the minds of the Everton faithful for a long time.

This comes in the form of the physical form of star forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

DCL was forced to withdraw from international service with England due to a toe injury earlier this month and, in turn, has since been considered a doubt to appear against Burnley.

And, in a blow to everyone associated with the Merseysiders, it has now been confirmed that the 24-year-old will be forced out of the proceedings on Monday.

This comes with the last squad of the day of Rafael Benítez that was unveiled a short time ago.

Calvert-Lewin, along with James Rodríguez, is nowhere to be seen, although the news about captain Seamus Coleman, who was also labeled a clash doubt due to an injury sustained during the international break, is more positive:
