Leeds landed a blow against Liverpool as a key defender limped out of the clash

Leeds vs Liverpool

Liverpool and Leeds United currently meet at Elland Road in a Premier League clash.

Both teams headed into the game in very contrasting fashion, with Leeds winless in their first three league games of 2021/22 and Liverpool looking to top the table with a win on Sunday.

So unsurprisingly, it has largely been the visitors who have mastered the proceedings in Yorkshire so far.

Liverpool’s right-back has been a particular problem for Marcelo Bielsa’s team, with new signing Junior Firpo in particular struggling to deal with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold came close to helping Liverpool take the lead early in the game when he passed a ball over to Diogo Jota, who perhaps should have done better with his effort.

However, shortly after, TAA slipped on Mo Salah, who made it 1-0 and also scored his 100th The Premier League goal and its 98th for Liverpool:

Leeds dealt a hard blow to Llorente

As well as being dominated for most of the first half and falling 1-0 against, Leeds also took a hit on the personal front on Sunday.

Diego Llorente was signed by Leeds United in the 2020 summer delayed transfer window.

However, the central defender would miss much of last season due to injury, which largely involved his groin or hamstring.

Now, vs Liverpool, Llorente’s hamstring seems to have caused him a problem once again, with the Spaniard forced into the top 45 on Sunday:

Leeds’ record at PL improved a lot with Llorente on the field last season, so they hope the 28-year-old’s current problem is not too serious.
