Arsenal sack Norwich

Arsenal would face Norwich City on Saturday afternoon in a Premier League clash.

The tie was of great importance for both sides, who were still looking for their first points of the PL campaign.

Arsenal headed into the tie without having been able to score a single league goal in their previous three league games, losing to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Norwich had also fallen in defeat in their first three Premier League ties of 2021/22, but they had at least scored a goal against Leicester.

As a result, both sides were clearly desperate for a much-needed victory at the Emirates.

In the end, however, it would be Arsenal who prevailed. The Gunners dominated the clash and finished with 30 shots, of which only seven were on target.

But they would eventually find the breakthrough in the 66th minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a 1-0 win.

This result took Arsenal out of the relegation zone and at 16th place. Meanwhile, Norwich are now the only team to have managed a single Premier League point this season and, along with Arsenal, are the league’s lowest scorers at just one out of four.

Tierney reacts to Tomiyasu’s debut

Elsewhere on Saturday, Takehiro Tomiyasu would make his Arsenal debut over the weekend.

The defender was placed directly on the right back and enjoyed a pretty decent debt.

On the back of his first win in an Arsenal jersey, Tomiyasu took to Instagram to post about his debut, writing:

It was a special day for me. I was happy to play in front of the incredible Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium. Thank you for your great support. I will keep working to be better !!!

In response to this, Kieran Tierney took to Instagram to reply to Tomiyasu’s debut, writing in the same post with the comment ‘Brilliant mate !!’ followed by a clapping emoji:
