‘The game is dying’, Tottenham fans react to Crystal Palace lineup

'The game is dying', Tottenham fans react to Crystal Palace lineup

Spurs face the Palace

After a seemingly endless international hiatus, club football is finally back. To kick off the new round of Premier League matches, Tottenham traveled to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.

Spurs, with three wins out of three so far, will be looking to stay atop the Premier League table for another week, while Palace will look to cause an early surprise. However, their hopes will be bolstered by the problems Tottenham has when it comes to personnel.

The trio of Davison Sánchez, Giovanni Lo Celso and Cristian Romero are still in Croatia after their matches with Argentina and Colombia respectively, and they are unlikely to face Chelsea either.

Additionally, Heung Min Son and Steven Bergwijn suffered injuries in international service that ruled them out, with the former not expected to return until after next weekend.

As a result, the lineup seemed a bit short on attacking creativity, something Spurs fans quickly realized.

Tottenham fans react to their midfield

The main problem for most of the lily-white support was the midfielder trio of Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, all of whom are defensive midfielders by trade. Unsurprisingly, they wasted no time turning to social media to vent their frustrations.

Will the Spurs be able to achieve a result with that many losses?
