Bruce left unsatisfied after a disappointing summer

Hardly anyone could argue with Newcastle boss Steve Bruce reading the riot law about the Magpies’ lack of summer spending in the run-up to the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

According to The IndependentBruce has continued to speak of the lack of support from the club’s owner, Mike Ashley, and has openly stated that he will “never be satisfied” with the state of the team.

The only deal of the summer with Newcastle came with a £ 25 million outlay to Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock after the England youth international made a huge impression on loan during the second half of last season. But after the club opted to pay for the deal in installments, the summer window remains as quiet as a mouse, with Newcastle only looking at a handful of loan moves that never materialized before the window slammed shut.

Charged once again with trying to keep the club afloat in the Premier League, Bruce spoke about his role as a coach to always try to improve his options;

“… All parties have long known the budget parameters under which we operate. Look, my job is to always try to improve the squad and never be satisfied, never.

I thought a couple of loaned additions to the roster would help us tremendously. Unfortunately, it was not possible to do that. To enable us to do so, it was not just the monetary aspect of obtaining a loan.

To bring two in particular, we would have to make room and we could not negotiate either. I was hoping that we could trade a pair to bring a pair, and unfortunately that didn’t work out and it didn’t happen, very frustrating, but that’s the stance and I knew what the club’s stance was.

The statement has made it pretty clear what it is, so I have to accept it and move on. “

Newcastle youth will cover the slim squad at the weekend

The state of the Newcastle team is quite frustrating, but the current selection issues taking hold at St. James ‘Park will likely see young couple Joe White and Elliot Anderson make the team of the day for the Magpies’ trip. to Old Trafford amid the anticipation of Cristiano. Ronaldo’s second club debut.

The absences of Calum Wilson and Ryan Frasier, in particular, will force Bruce to turn to White and Anderson, who are no strangers to Newcastle’s first team after both have previously debuted; White during the preseason, while Anderson made multiple appearances last season.
