Manchester United vs Newcastle

Newcastle, so far, have had a rather disappointing 2021/22 season.

Steve Bruce’s team began their campaign by taking a 2-1 lead and ultimately losing 4-2 at the hands of West Ham.

This was followed by Aston Villa beating the Magpies 2-0 and Newcastle then crashed out of the League Cup at 2North Dakota round vs Burnley.

Bruce and company won their first point of the season last time when they drew with Southampton.

However, the Northeast team is still likely to feel somewhat aggrieved that they did not get all three points on that occasion.

Newcastle took the lead twice in the game, first through Callum Wilson and then through Allan Saint-Maximin in 91S t minute.

But Newcastle would squander their lead twice to finally settle for a post-’96 draw by James Ward-Prowse.thMinute equalizer.

Newcastle now faces the daunting task of facing Manchester United fueled by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Steve Bruce on Callum Wilson

Ahead of United’s tie, which will take place at 3pm on Saturday, Steve Bruce held his last press conference on Friday.

During the press, Bruce would provide an update on Callum Wilson, who suffered a thigh injury against Southampton last month.

And unfortunately for Newcastle fans, Wilson will be missing this weekend, as Bruce doesn’t set a timescale for his return:

“Unfortunately, Callum Wilson will not spend the weekend with his thigh injury. We are not going to put a time scale on it. It’s really frustrating for Callum and for us. We just have to give it as long as it takes. “
