Marc Overmars happy to stay at Ajax amid Arsenal speculation

Marc Overmars happy to stay at Ajax amid Arsenal speculation

Edu’s plight

Edu, Arsenal’s technical director, has been the subject of significant criticism since the start of the summer window, with many fans unhappy with the deal done.

Six players came to the club for a total of 150 million pounds, but only three – Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Martin Odegaard – are ready to immediately improve on the Gunners’ starting eleven.

This fact, combined with a nightmarish start that has seen the club slide to 20th place without scoring a goal and conceding 9 in the process, has understandably led to questions from top management.

However, in an interview with Sky Sports, Edu asked for patience, saying:

“I respect all the pressure. I came from corinthians and then the Brazilian team where there is incredible pressure, like here.

“I understand the fans. I understand the reason and accept it, but we will need a little time to do what we plan to do.

“I know this type of work, when we talk about signings, and the need for patience hurts the Arsenal fans a lot, but it is reality.

“So when I tell them that we have to create a good base and to create a good base, they need time.”

However, rumors continue to swirl, and former Gunner turned Ajax football director Marc Overmars has been a suggested man to replace the Brazilian.

Overmars happy to stay

Speaking to AjaxTV, however, it looks like Overmars isn’t going anywhere in a hurry. The Dutchman revealed:

“As I have said several times, we are really having fun.”

‘We are moving in the right direction. The four of us form good management and that is important. We are like a family, we are close. And that is also important. And who knows, we may have good news soon. “

I’m not getting any younger. They also offered me the opportunity to go elsewhere. That is what happens and it is always good to consider a move. But then I just think about how well things are going here.

If it is not broke, do not fix it. If your old shoes are still comfortable for you, keep wearing them. “

It seems that if Arsenal parted ways with Edu they would therefore have to look elsewhere for a replacement.
