McDonald’s mocks Liverpool for third kit launch

McDonald's mocks Liverpool for third kit launch

A hilarious story about the launch of the third kit that Premier League giants Liverpool will wear this season has come to light on Wednesday night.

Klopp’s men turn yellow

The release of Liverpool’s latest alternative jersey has, of course, taken center stage online today.

This is because manufacturer Nike’s efforts were met with something of a backlash from the club’s fan base.

When their third kit is required in 2021/22, the men of Jurgen Klopp will sport a striking yellow design, with red trim and a plaid design along the neckline and sleeves:

Meanwhile, some of the wave of disappointed responses to Nike’s latest flashy launch are shown below:

‘Where did you get it?’

However, as described above, it is a particular reaction to Liverpool’s new third kit which, tonight, has gone completely viral on social media.

Interestingly, the answer in question was courtesy of the fast food chain McDonald’s.

Amid widespread suggestions that the Reds’ latest jersey bears a striking resemblance to the look made famous by Ronald McDonald, the manufacturer took to Twitter to post the following message earlier today:

‘My God, I love your shirt, where did you get it from…’, accompanied by a couple of yellow and red hearts, and the initials IYKYK.

For those who don’t know, the last part of the Tweet means “if you know, you know”, an obvious effort to draw attention to the Liverpool uniform.

However, to the credit of those responsible for the Merseysiders’ social media platforms, they seem to have taken the lighthearted taunt well, having responded with:
