The Genk manager seems to suggest that Liverpool should look at Paul Onuachu

‘A club like that could really use it’

Most of the time we see coaches trying to keep their best players.

However, on this occasion, it seems that a coach is trying to get one of his players to move to Liverpool.

Speaking in a recent interview, Genk’s manager, Dimitri de Conde set that a club like Liverpool could really use a player like Paul Onachu, adding that the forward would have scored for the Reds last weekend against a 10-man Chelsea:

“Did you see Liverpool against Chelsea? Liverpool have the best forwards, but none with the same profile as Onuachu. He would have scored against ten men.

“I’m not saying that Paul would play 90 minutes every week in Liverpool, but a club like that could really use him.”

Who is Paul Onuachu?

However, who really is Paul Onuachu, and should Liverpool look to sign him?

Onuachu, 27, would move to his current team, Genk, in 2019, leaving Danish team FC Midtjylland for a fee that is reportedly around. £ 5.4 million.

Since then, Onuachu has appeared 76 times with the Belgian team, scoring 48 and assisting seven along the way.

The Nigerian international, a 10-time international, also played Liverpool while on Genk’s books.

He participated in both Genk Champions League group matches in 2019/20 against the Reds, but did not score or assist.

Onuachu is a center forward by trade and cannot really operate in any other position. And since Liverpool already have Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota for this position, perhaps the Reds should look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.
