James Rodríguez, of Everton, aimed to switch to loan to Turkey

Everton's James Rodríguez targeted for an imminent Turkey trade

European media reports on Monday have hinted at a possible loan outing for underprivileged Everton star James Rodriguez.

James back in shape

Colombian international Rodríguez, of course, only moved to Goodison Park last summer.

Following another season of testing on Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid books, during which he struggled for playing time, the 30-year-old opted to try his hand at the Premier League for the first time.

And the subsequent campaign, in turn, was largely positive.

While forced to deal with a number of fitness issues, Rodriguez, when in shape, found himself in Everton’s midfield with ease, adding some much-needed cunning to the club’s ranks.

In total, in 26 appearances in all competitions, the talented South American accumulated 6 goals and 9 assists.

Turkey bound?

Rodriguez’s change at Everton that unfolded in the first place, however, only came about due to the persistence of Carlo Ancelotti, who had previously overseen some of the best forms of the Colombian’s career while in Madrid.

In turn, when the strategist abruptly ended his stint at Goodison in early June, it was no surprise that speculation about Rodriguez’s future quickly followed.

And, as described above, over the past 24 hours, a new perspective on the situation has been gained.

With the 30-year-old still yet to receive a single competitive appearance from new boss Rafael Benítez, Rodríguez has now received a suggestion for an imminent move to Turkey.

The window for Super Lig clubs remains open next week, with a surprise suitor, in turn, emerging for the midfielder’s signature.

The outfit in question? Istanbul Basaksehir.

According to a report by Foot MarketBasaksehir is preparing a proposal for those in a position of power in Merseyside to borrow Rodriguez for the remainder of the season.

Of course, it remains to be seen, however, whether the Toffees or the Colombian himself would be open to such a move.
