Liverpool’s Sadio Mane defines his goal for 2021/22

Liverpool's Sadio Mane defines his goal for 2021/22

2020/21 by Sadio Mane

Liverpool as a team had a pretty poor 2020/21 overall.

This, of course, was due in part to the serious injury issues that the entire team suffered during the Covid-19 campaign.

But even without injuries, a pair of Liverpool stars underperformed somewhat throughout the season.

One of them was Sadio Mane who, despite scoring 11 goals and eight assists in the league, had a pretty poor campaign by his standards.

Mane was apparently aware of this himself as he would undergo tests to check that nothing was wrong physically.

Mane’s goal for 2021/22

Now, in a recent interview, Mane has been discussing how disappointed he was last season:

“I was so disappointed with last season, and passionately, as I thought I could have done more. While he could have scored 18-22 goals per season, this time it wasn’t like that anymore, so of course I was going to be disappointed. “

In the same interview, Mane has outlined his target goal for the current campaign.

The Senegalese international has so far played three Premier League games for Liverpool this season.

Liverpool would win two and tie one of these heats, with Mane opening his scoring account in the 2North Dakota game of the season vs Burnley.

And now, Mane has suggested that he wants to score 30 goals in 2021/22:

“I want to score goals and form teammates, even to score 30 goals.

“Why not? The more the better as far as I’m concerned and my ambition for the team is to win trophies. Everyone is hungry for that.”
