Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech responds to Morocco boss: 'Tell the truth'

Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech has responded to recent comments by Moroccan national team boss Vahid Halilhodzic amid suggestions that the 28-year-old had behaved in an ‘unacceptable’ manner while on duty. international during the summer.

‘Behavior that disappoints me’

The name of the versatile midfielder Ziyech, of course, made the headlines Thursday afternoon.

This came after the aforementioned Halilhodzic was drawn to his decision to leave the former Ajax player at home for his team’s final World Cup qualifying round.

Morocco faced Sudan last night, with a meeting with Guinea next Monday.

Amid such a crucial stretch in the nation’s efforts to secure a spot in next year’s Qatar masterpiece, it was a huge surprise to see star man Ziyech completely excluded.

Halilhodzic, however, was not shy about confirming the reasons for his decision.

The former Yugoslav international drew attention to Ziyech’s behavior ahead of Morocco’s matches against Ghana and Burkina Faso in June, accusing the attacker of being late, refusing to work, and even faking an injury:

“His behavior in the last two games, especially the last one, was not that of a national team player who, as team leader, has to be a positive role model.”

‘He was late and after that, he even refused to work. There was no point in discussing it later, as a coach, the answer is there to see. ”

“For me, the selection is above all, nobody can be held hostage.”

“For the first time in my coaching career, I have seen behaviors that disappoint me. A player who refuses to play a game, undoubtedly a friendly one, on the pretext that he is injured ”.

The medical staff did several examinations and said that he could play. He then refused to warm up in the second half because he was disappointed in being a substitute. For me, that kind of behavior is unacceptable.

‘You can’t cheat with the national team. You’re 100% or you’re not. ‘

‘Tell the truth’

However, as described above, Ziyech himself was not prepared to accept criticism from his national team boss without a fight.

In a quick and unsubtle response on Thursday, the Chelsea star took to Instagram to send the following message to Halilhodzic:

‘Next time you speak, tell the truth… !!!’, accompanied by a clown emoji:
