What Arsenal CEO Vinai Venkatesham told club staff after the transfer window closed

Arsenal’s summer window 2021

Arsenal were one of the most active and spenders in the Premier League this summer.

The Gunners would bring six senior players to the club over the summer, all with permanent deals.

These players were Ben White from Brighton, Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United, Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna, Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht and Nuno Tavares from Benfica.

Meanwhile, on the outgoing front, Joe Willock to Newcastle was Arsenal’s only permanent sale, leaving the North London team with the highest net spending in the Premier League since the summer window:

Arsenal boss message to staff

Despite what appears to have been a pretty decent window with several promising young stars, Arsenal are currently struggling in the league.

They have lost their first three games of the Premier League campaign without scoring a single goal.

Now, however, after the summer window was closed, the Evening standard revealed that Arsenal CEO Vina Venkatesham sent a message to all Arsenal staff last night.

The message, according to the Evening Standard, was as follows:

Of course, I write this update in the context of a hugely disappointing start to the season. I know how difficult this is for all of you, both as supporters and employees, with criticism coming from all angles.

β€œAt times like this, it is critical that we stick together and stay positive. We have a very important streak of matches after the international break and I’m sure we can and will come out fighting ”.
