What Ederson said after signing a new contract with Manchester City until 2026

Ederson’s stint at Man City

Manchester City signed Ederson from Benfica in July 2017 due to a report £ 36 million.

Since then, the Brazilian has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

In total, Ederson has kept 97 very impressive clean sheets in 195 starts for City and has won two Gold Gloves, including the 2020/21 award:

Now, after several impressive years at the club, Man City has confirmed that Ederson has signed a new five-year contract with the club, keeping him at the Etihad until 2026:

After putting pen to paper on his new deal, Ederson speak Man City and Sky Blues fans will love what the Brazilian had to say.

Ederson began to say that it was an easy decision and that he didn’t want to be anywhere else.

The closer then stated that he is confident that City can continue to bring more success to the club in the coming seasons:

“It was an easy decision for me. There is nowhere else I want to be.

“Being part of one of the best squads in world football and competing for trophies year after year is what every footballer wants, and that’s the opportunity you get at City.

“We have an outstanding manager. Working with him has been one of the great experiences of my career and I am a better player for it.

“We have achieved a lot in the last four years, and I am confident that we can continue to bring more success to the Club in the coming seasons.”

The city’s soccer director, Txiki Begiristain, also had the following to say about the Brazilian:

“Ederson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

“He fits perfectly with our philosophy here at Manchester City and his ability with the ball at his feet makes him central to our style of play.

“Since we signed him, he has added a new dimension to our game and has revolutionized goalkeeping in the Premier League in the process.

“His performances over the last four years have been exceptional and there is no doubt that he will continue to be a key player for us.

“We are delighted that he has committed his future to the Club.”
