The Portugal game offers information on the new Manchester United dynamic of Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo rejoins Manchester United

Yesterday it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo had officially rejoined Manchester United from Juventus.

Apparently at one point thought to be joining arch rival Manchester City, United did their best to see the deal go through and the Portuguese forward to return to Old Trafford.

Manchester United revealed in their announcement that Ronaldo signed a two-year deal, with the option of one more year, meaning he could play for the Red Devils until age 39 if he were to close the deal.

As for the rate, it has reportedly returned 15 million euros to Manchester United, with an additional 8 million euros in add-ons, bringing the potential deal to 23 million euros.

Portuguese Penalty Rights

Although they have yet to play together at club level, information about the upcoming relationship between Ronaldo and compatriot Bruno Fernandes may have been provided when they get to play together.

This comes in the form of penalty rights. The pair began the World Cup tie against the Republic of Ireland together in a strong team from Portugal that also included Joao Cancelo and Diogo Jota.

And just nine minutes after the match, the home team received a penalty when John Egan judged that Bruno Fernandes had been knocked down. Fernandes, Manchester United penalty taker, wasted no time passing the ball directly to his new clubmate, who later saw his penalty stopped.

Fernandes scored nine penalties last season for the Red Devils, but with the addition of Ronaldo to Old Trafford, could we see national roles replicated at the club level?
