Granit Xhaka fights back against Manchester City’s red card

Xhaka sees Arsenal read hammering

Arsenal were at the end of a 5-0 win at the hands of Premier League champions Manchester City, who condemned them to 20th place ahead of the international break.

Out of the game at 2-0, however, they were even more paralyzed when Granit Xhaka saw red midway through the first half.

Of course, Xhaka has a history of disciplinary problems for the Gunners, having been sent off four times in his 164 Premier League appearances.

However, there was pleadings that he had thrown in the towel early and therefore decided to be expelled.

Xhaka gives his opinion on his red card

Speaking on international duty with Switzerland, the former Arsenal club captain voiced his opinion on the incident, saying:

“On the red card: brutally surprising! With PL, people often talk about the harshness of English. I hit the ball 100% and got a red one. The images were not reviewed by the VAR. I’ve seen tougher tackles that weren’t even rated as a foul. “

When asked more about his time at Arsenal, Xhaka also revealed the impact of his new contract, stating:

“The extension of the contract gave me another push. I consider myself lucky with that, besides, I am healthy, which is the most important thing in the end ”.
