Why the wolves suspended their search for Renato Sanches de Lille

Why the wolves suspended their search for Renato Sanches de Lille, agreement for Boubacar Kamara that is being worked on

An explanation will be given on Tuesday night for the Wolves not signing Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.

Wolves linked to Sanches

Renato Sanches would join Lille in August 2019 after a rather poor season with Bayern Munich, which also included a terrible loan loss at Swansea City.

However, since moving to France, Sanches has rediscovered some of his best form that had previously led Bayern to buy him when he was young in 2016.

The now 24-year-old has played 60 times for Lille, scoring five goals and providing five assists.

Sanches, of course, would also play a key role in helping Lille end PSG’s dominance over Ligue 1 last season.

And, on Monday, it was reported that there was confidence that the Wolves could give up Sanches del Lille on Tuesday:

Why did the deal with Sanches fail?

However, earlier on Tuesday, it was claimed that Wolves had ended talks with Lille over the Portuguese midfielder.

And now, an explanation of why Wolves closed the deal has been posted online.

According Athletic Tim Spiers:

Sanches’ troublesome injury issues, with the 24-year-old sidelined after undergoing knee surgery two weeks ago, are seen as too prohibitive for a deal to take place.

Spiers adds that the wolves are said to have moved on to other targets in hopes of bringing someone in before tonight’s deadline.

And that player seems to be Marseille Boubacar Kamara:

5 players Manchester United should target to join Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in midfield

Five coaches Arsenal could realistically sound out to replace Mikel Arteta
