Maitland-Niles wants out

It has become quite clear in the last 24 hours that the versatile Arsenal player Ainsley Maitland-Niles wants to leave the club. Word broke that a possible move to Everton was in the works, only for the Gunners hierarchy to reject the possible loan move.

After promoting his services all summer, Arsenal apparently turned down the only offer to replace him because they wanted him to stay.

This, in turn, prompted the 24-year-old to use Instagram to vent his frustrations, even going so far as to tag the club in his plea for playing time.

Maitland Niles will be demoted

In an even more shocking turn of events, Maitland-Niles is now set to be demoted from Arsenal’s first team, according to John Cross of the Mirror.

It is the latest step in a puzzling and disturbingly public turn of events at Arsenal, which still expects to do business both on and off the deadline. However, it seems unlikely that Maitland-Niles will get his wishes to play or leave the club anytime soon.
