Real Madrid, giants of La Liga, reached an agreement with Stade Rennais on Monday night for the signing of midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

PSG stands firm

News headlines about events at the Bernabéu in the run-up to the transfer deadline have of course focused on Real Madrid’s search for Kylian Mbappé.

Despite the fact that the French international has only one year to fulfill his contract with PSG, it is understood that Los Blancos at the end of last week presented a gigantic offer worth 170 million euros, plus another 10 million in bonds, for his sign.

Surprisingly, however, the Parc des Princes board offered to reject the proposal.

In turn, tonight it became known that Florentino Pérez and company. had chosen to close out his summer career for Mbappé, to focus his attention on a pre-contract deal with the 22-year-old in January.

Incoming Camavinga

Unsurprisingly, this news had culminated in an air of disappointment at the Bernabéu, and the Real faithful were undoubtedly full of anticipation of the possible arrival of one of the best young players in world football.

However, if the last word coming from the media on Monday night is anything to go by, then Los Blancos supporters need not worry.

This comes with the capital’s high weights, notably now seemingly about to land on another of the best prospects on the continent.

The player in question? Eduardo Camavinga.

According to a host of reliable sources, Real are getting ever closer to closing a deal with Stade Rennais, to bring Camavinga to the Bernabéu before Tuesday’s deadline.

The 18-year-old, long regarded as one of Europe’s best promising midfielders, is a longtime target of the Spanish club, with a deal worth around € 30m now imminent.

Like Mbappé, Camavinga’s deal in France will expire next summer, hence the low financial figures involved.
