Drinkwater leaves Chelsea on loan / Tino Anjorin ready to move on

Speculation in the English media on Monday night has pointed to an imminent departure of the renowned Chelsea talent, Tino Anjorin.

Blues star

Anjorin, 19, has long been seen as one of the most promising young talents in books in South West London.

The English youth international is an offensive midfielder by trade, but he is also more than capable of lining up in a more orthodox central role in the middle of the park.

Anjorin’s outstanding performances at the youth level saw him named captain of the Chelsea Youth Cup team in 2019/20, with another 4 goals and 4 assists in 10 Premier League 2 appearances last season, having seen the star of the teenager keep increasing.

Such stellar feats, in turn, even saw Anjorin carve out a regular spot for himself in Frank Lampard’s first-team setup late last year.

The midfield talent received his Champions League bow in December, driving 80 minutes en route to a 1-1 draw in the group stage with Russian team Krasnodar, before taking to the field in a pair of playoffs of the FA Cup.

Moscow bound

Despite his obvious talents and potential to become a genuine top-class performer, however, on Monday, it was revealed that Anjorin is indeed slowly making his way towards Chelsea’s starting gate.

According to several reliable sources, the 19-year-old has been targeted by Russian powerhouse Lokomotiv Moscow, with the board at Stamford Bridge set to sell.

So a loan deal including a £ 17 million call option (which Lokomotiv intends to activate) next summer is therefore close to completion.

However, significantly, Chelsea will maintain a buyback option as part of the agreement:

Elsewhere on the spending front in west London on Monday night, Danny Drinkwater’s latest loan outflow was confirmed.

The midfielder, who spent last season in Turkey with Kasimpasa, has joined Reading for the 2021/22 campaign, following Tiemoue Bakayoko away from Chelsea. Exit door in the middle of a busy end of the transfer window for Retirees.
