Premier League giants Chelsea confirmed defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko’s latest loan out on Friday.

Bloated blues team

Of course, it’s expected to be a busy 24 hours in West London before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

Following a strong recruiting drive over the past twelve months, Thomas Tuchel’s team remains rife with fringe options, the vast majority of which are unlikely to carve out real playing time over the course of the next season.

To the credit of the Stamford Bridge board of directors, so far this summer they have managed to outperform the likes of Kurt Zouma, Olivier Giroud, Davide Zappacosta and Tammy Abraham.

However, a host of unfortunate options remain, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Danny Drinkwater, Malang Sarr just a few looking at a totally unsuccessful 2021/22 campaign.

Rossoneri return

Therefore, it will certainly be a boost for everyone associated with the club to hear confirmation that another member of Tuchel’s 40-player panel has been transferred today.

The player in question? Tiemoue Bakayoko.

French midfielder Bakayoko has, of course, endured a very difficult season in the English capital since arriving from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017.

Loans to all of Naples, old Monaco and AC Milan, in turn, have occurred in recent years.

And, on Monday, a long-awaited return to the latter has finally been confirmed.

As confirmed on the Blues’ social media platforms recently, Bakayoko has linked up with Stefano Pioli’s Milan on a two-year loan deal:

Meanwhile, a more detailed look at the terms of the deal has also been received since then.

According to Goal’s trusty Nizaar Kinsella, Bakayoko’s departure from Stamford Bridge will finally become permanent this time. This comes with Milan being forced to pay once the terms of the Frenchman’s loan are concluded.

The agreement, in total, could generate Chelsea a not inconsiderable fee of around 20 million euros.
