Ainsley Maitland-Niles takes a massive Instagram hit at Arsenal when Everton's offer is rejected

Maitland-Niles attracts Everton’s interest

News broke this morning that Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sparking the interest of Premier League club Everton. The merseyside outift was thought to be offering an initial loan with a possible purchase option at the end of the season.

Perhaps surprisingly, it was thought that the loan was intended to provide coverage as a right back for Rafa Benitez’s side, the same position that suggested he would not be willing to continue playing for the Gunners.

However, as reported by Paul Joyce, Mikel Arteta and company. They turned down Maitland-Niles’ move, reportedly because they want the 24-year-old to stay with the club this season.

Maitland-Niles openly attacks Arsenal

Following the breakdown of the deal, the player has taken to Instagram for help. Writing in his Instagram story, the midfielder said:

“All I want to do is go where they want me and where I’m going to play.”

The latest developments add to the growing sense from outsiders watching that Arsenal have no clue in the transfer window at the moment. Maitland-Niles, who is believed to be available for sale this summer, has now been denied the opportunity to leave the club, while at the same time he has yet to start a competitive match this season.

What will the next 24 hours hold for the midfielder?
