Aston Villa vs Brentford

Aston Villa will be back in Premier League action very soon.

The Villans will host newly promoted Brentford at kickoff at 3pm on Saturday.

Brentford enters the game with a solid start to life in the Premier League.

The Bees would beat Arsenal 2-0 on the first day of the season, before drawing with Crystal Palace the last time.

Villa meanwhile fell to a 3-2 loss at the hands of Watford in the opening weekend, but bounced back with a win over Newcastle United last time out.

Why Tyrone Mings missed Aston Villa vs Brentford

Before the tie, Aston Villa would release its fixed lineup one hour before kickoff.

The lineup was largely as expected, as Dean Smith already confirmed at his press conference on Friday that Bertrand Traore and Leon Bailey skip through injury.

However, there was a notable big absence from the team of the day, with now captain Tyrone Mings not even on the bench against Brentford.

Villa, however, has provided an explanation for the defender’s absence, stating:

Captain Tyrone Mings will miss today’s match against Brentford due to injury.

John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey are currently following the government guidelines regarding Covid-19.
