Mesut Ozil reacts to Arsenal's beating at Man City

Former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil took to social media on Saturday to react to the Gunners’ embarrassing defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

Citizens riot

Mikel Arteta’s men, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

The capital giants made the trip to the Etihad, for a thoroughly disheartening Premier League showdown with champion Manchester City.

While Arsenal were understandably seen as an underdog for the clash, after a couple of losses in the league to open the campaign, Gunners fans were certainly hopeful their team would at least hold out.

However, when all was said and done, to say that the visitors didn’t do it would be an understatement.

A frankly laughable display finally saw Arteta and company. on the receiving end of a 5-0 loss, courtesy of goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Ferran Torres (2), Gabriel Jesus and Rodri.

Arsenal, in turn, remain in the relegation zone of the Premier League, having fallen to three defeats of three, conceding nine without finding the net even once.

‘Trust the process’

So it came as no surprise to see North Londoners take center stage on social media.

Bewildered reactions, remarkable statistics and strong criticism have flowed in equal measure in the hour or so since the full-time whistle blew in Manchester, in the middle of another dark day in the history of a club that was once so proud.

And, as described above, one particular reaction from Twitter has caught the attention of many Gunners fans.

The tweet in question is courtesy of Mesut Ozil, who took to his personal account to post the following simple message, about Mikel Arteta’s ongoing ‘process’ in the Emirates:

Five coaches Arsenal could realistically sound out to replace Mikel Arteta
