Brendan Rodgers provides updated information on Ricardo Pereira’s injuries

Brendan Rodgers provides updated information on Ricardo Pereira's injury following Leicester's win over Norwich

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers provided an update on Ricardo Pereira’s well-being tonight after the defender was forced to limp against Norwich.

Albrighton the surprise hero

Of course, Rodgers’ men were back in action not long ago.

The Foxes made the trip to Carrow Road, for their third outing of the new Premier League campaign.

Leicester headed into proceedings looking for a three-point rebound, having followed up a stellar start of the season with a 4-1 beating at the hands of West Ham last time out.

And when all was said and done on Saturday afternoon, getting back on the winning track is precisely what the visitors achieved.

In a hard-fought 90 minutes, the Foxes finally emerged on the right side from a 2-1 scoreline, courtesy of goals from Jamie Vardy and substitute Marc Albrighton.

Last Pereira

However, on a positive workday for Leicester, at least to some extent, a new blow on the personal front.

With all Jonny Evans, Jannik Vestergaard and Wesley Fofana already on the treatment table, Brendan Rodgers’ defensive headache was further added by a problem picked up by Ricardo Pereira.

Interestingly, the Portuguese suffered the injury in the process of scoring his team’s first goal, climbing up the right before squaring up for Vardy to huddle at home, only to stop moments later.

Pereira, in turn, was forced to limp before being replaced by Timothy Castagne, who was returning.

And, as described above, in the wake of his team’s trip to Carrow Road, Brendan Rodgers has provided an early update on the well-being of his key winger.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the Leicester boss explained:

“It looks like his hamstring, but we’ll have to wait for the scan and then assess the situation from there.”
