Arsenal gave a boost when Kevin de Bruyne ruled out the weekend’s clash

Arsenal gave a boost when Kevin de Bruyne ruled out the weekend's clash

Arsenal’s torrid start

Arsenal are off to a torrid start to the 2021-22 campaign. Battered by injuries and a coronavirus outbreak at camp, they limped to a 2-0 loss on opening night to the new Premier League boys, before being completely outscored by the European champions in a game in the one who were lucky enough to lose only by two in.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, things are not easier for the Gunners, with an away draw with Premier League champions and Champions League runners-up Manchester City. A poor result would almost certainly see Mikel Arteta’s side heading to the international break in the relegation zone to three games of the season.

De Bruyne ruled out for clash

However, in a small boost to Arsenal’s slim chances of victory at the weekend, Kevin De Bruyne has been ruled out of the game due to an injury to Belgian manager Roberto Martinez.

Speaking about the announcement of his Belgian team, of which De Bruyne will not be a part, Martínez revealed that:

“He played against the Spurs, but he felt some pain again. He will not play this weekend. “

Of course, with Manchester City’s offensive talent and the addition of Jack Grealish, the Gunners will have little rest. Arteta’s team will still have to face three or more of Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva.

Yet it offers the slightest glimmer of hope.
