Everton transfer news: PSG assign Richarlison and Rodríguez to talk with other clubs, Saints confirm small catch

Everton transfer news

In this article, we will bring you all the Everton transfer news today. Be sure to come back to the site for more daily transfer updates for the rest of this month.

Richarlison emerges as target of PSG clash

Everton’s Brazilian international striker Richarlison has become a shock target for none other than Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

According to RMC Sport via GetFrenchFootballNews, the gold medal winner will be designated as a possible replacement for French star Kylian Mbappé, who is adamant about leaving the Parc des Princes and has rejected a new contract extension in the French capital.

Richarlison’s relationship with Neymar has apparently played a role at PSG in probing the 24-year-old Nova Venécia native, with Neymar presenting his name to the club’s hierarchy should Mbappé move this summer.

James Rodríguez gives the go-ahead to speak with other clubs

James Rodriguez’s time at Goodison Park appears to point toward all possible starting lines this summer, and the Colombian international was given permission to begin speaking with other clubs before the transfer window concludes.

There seems to be no way to get back into the fold for Rodríguez under new Everton boss Rafa Benítez and according to the Telegraph, the player has been linked to the interest of clubs such as AC Milan and Atlético de Madrid.

Social media also had a field day at Rodriguez’s expense recently, with the Everton attacking midfielder not only confirming his lack of involvement for the Toffees ahead of their weekend game against Leeds United, but also having no idea of who his team would face at Goodison Park.

Everton youth accepts contract with Southampton

Highly Qualified Everton Youth Academy Graduate Thierry Small agreed to a three-year contract with the Southampton South Coast team as the Saints continue to march while relying on the youth.

Small was linked to the interest of a host of clubs this summer, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as interest from the continent.

Everton will receive a still unknown amount of compensation after losing the talented and versatile defender, who enters the club with the desire to continue his development at a club that boasts of its success as a youth channel. New manager Ralph Hasenhüttl echoes those sentiments;

“I think our philosophy of how we develop these young players and give them their opportunities has been an important factor in this, and we are looking forward to working with Thierry and helping him realize his full potential.” [quote via Southamptonfc.com]
