Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta provides Kieran Tierney update, Ben White expected to miss vs Man City

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta updates Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Martinelli alleviates injury fears and center-back is expected to miss Man City game

Arsenal brought down by Chelsea

Arsenal would play their 2North Dakota match of the 2021/22 season of the Premier League recently.

The Gunners faced London rivals Chelsea and headed into the clash looking to bounce back from their opening day loss at the hands of Brentford.

Arsenal lost 2-0 against the Bees, and fell on the same scoreboard against Chelsea as well.

New signing Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring for the visitors after just 14 minutes, hitting a Reece James cross into an empty net:

Chelsea then doubled their lead 20 minutes later, with James this time as the scorer:

The latest from Tierney, White and Martinelli

Arsenal have now failed to score or add a single point in their first two games of a season in England’s first four tiers for the first time in 118 seasons:

In addition to losing their first two bouts of the season, Arsenal also took two hits on the personal front on Sunday.

Both of them Kieran tierney and Gabriel Martinelli were expelled during the 2North Dakota half against Chelsea.

And while Arsenal fans probably feared the worst, there was some positive news as Martinelli eased injury fears after the match, confirming that he only had cramps and was not actually injured:

After the game, Mikel Arteta would also provide an update on Tierney, confirming that the defender had a problem with his quad:

And while it has yet to be confirmed whether the left-back will be alright to play Manchester City next weekend, Arteta said he doesn’t expect Ben White to show up:
