As loyal fans of the club watched from the lower stands on the ground, a disturbing fan announced on the stadium’s public address system that Werner should ‘leave the club’.

However, his actions were immediately met with opposition from other Chelsea supporters, as a supportive fan was seen on video to immediately rise up in defense of the German striker under fire, while others in the crowd booed him.

Werner thanks the fans who support him through social media; hopeful in partnership with Lukaku

But the former RB Leipzig hit man was not defeated by the event and took to his personal Twitter and Instagram accounts to thank those who showed up at Stamford Bridge during the open fan event.

Werner is optimistic about a possible association with the return of Romelu Lukaku given his history in a double striker system in Leipzig, where his association with Danish center forward Yussuf Poulsen benefited him greatly.

Werner scored 78 goals and added 32 assists in just 127 appearances for The red bulls Over the course of four seasons at Red Bull Arena, and if he can find his footing on the English shores and form a budding partnership with Lukaku, there aren’t many fans who want him to say goodbye to him any time soon.
