The latest on Eberechi Eze’s injury recovery and when Michael Olise could make his Crystal Palace debut

The latest on Eberechi Eze's injury recovery and when Michael Olise could make his Crystal Palace debut

A nightmare start

Patrick Viera would take over his first competitive game as Crystal Palace boss last weekend.

The Eagles faced a rather disappointing trip to Chelsea, which has been one of the most dominant teams in the Premier League since Thomas Tuchel took over.

Unsurprisingly, Palace was unable to beat Chelsea that day. But it was unlikely that they expected to take such a severe beating.

When the final whistle sounded at Stamford Bridge, goals from Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic and Trevoh Chalobah ensured that Chelsea walked away with a 3-0 victory.

Palace, meanwhile, looked completely out of reach, registering just one shot on goal all day.

Eze & Olise updates

After that beating, Patrick Viera will no doubt be eager to see more of his new signings quickly integrated into the top eleven.

Palace has been quite busy on the market this summer. But Marc Guehi was the only new signing from the start against Chelsea.

Joachim Anderson came off the bench, Conor Gallagher could not play as he is on loan from Chelsea and Michael Olise is still injured.

Now, however, it has been revealed when Olise is likely to make her Crystal Palace debut.

According to the Evening Standard, the winger is on track to make his debut after next month’s international break.

Olise has been suffering from a back injury but has now returned to light training and is aiming for her debut next month.

Elsewhere, the ES provided an update on Eberechi Eze. The Englishman has been out of the game since he was injured in training in May, and some reports suggest he could be out until December.

However, Eze is now believed to be well ahead of his recovery.
