Does the training video confirm Arsenal fans ‘hopes for Maitland Niles’ future?

Video: Does the training video confirm Arsenal fans 'hopes for Maitland Niles' future?

Maitland Niles is still at Arsenal

Despite suggestions to the contrary, Ainsley Maitland-Niles remains an Arsenal player as we approach the final two weeks of the transfer window.

The academy graduate spent the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, but despite impressing, he couldn’t prevent the Baggies from sliding into the second tier of English football.

Earlier in the window, Maitland-Niles suggested that he would be more than happy to leave North London in search of more regular first-team football.

Speaking exclusively to the Telegraph, he said:

“If it works, it works, if not, then kiss Arsenal goodbye. It has been a long journey, but also a proud one. Maybe they still want to do something and things could change. If not, there are always other teams “

However, little interest in English has been rumored, and any potential interest has not materialized in anything else, meaning Maitland-Niles has not had the opportunity to leave the club as he suggested he might.

Does the training video hint at a future position?

However, eagle-eyed Arsenal fans have seen a key detail in his training video that suggests the 23-year-old might have a future in North London after all.

Playing in a training game, Maitland-Niles apparently lifts the ball into the right-back position, before curving the ball into the far corner with the outside of his foot. Since Arsenal is reportedly Eager to identify a new right back, could that represent a path back to the first team for Maitland-Niles?

Of course, it would represent a significant U-turn for the versatile player, who has previously expressed his wish play in midfield. However, with the selections scarce and having previously impressed on paper, it could be on the cards.
