Arsenal ready to make “decisive bet” on Aaron Ramsdale as transfer frenzy begins

Arsenal ready to make one

Long summer for Ramsdale

Arsenal have been chasing the signing of Aaron Ramsdale all summer as they look to find competent coverage for Bernd Leno and a future first-team shot stopper.

While Football.London initially reported that Arsenal were in advanced talks for the shooting stopper last week, they later suggested a move had been made. decomposed after a disagreement about the potential fee.

However, the deal, according to sources in Sheffield, is not as close as previously thought, with Arsenal set to make a “decisive bet” on Ramsdale in the coming days. According to James Shield of the Sheffield Star, the offer is expected to be around 28 million pounds.

If the Gunners made the move, it would raise serious questions about the future of current No. 1 Leno, who pulled off another questionable performance against Brentford on Friday.

However, if the reports are to be believed, the Germans may soon have new and expensive competition.

Other pending matters

After a promising start, Arsenal have been somewhat quiet in the transfer window in recent weeks. Now, with two weeks left, it looks like they’re going to kick in. According to the Mirror’s John Cross, the hierarchy is poised to sanction up to three new hires before the window slammed shut on Aug. 31.

One of them is believed to be Martin Odegaard, and the Gunners are believed to be “cautiously optimistic” of closing a deal for the Norwegian, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the club.

With another potentially Aaron Ramsdale, a forward is also believed to be on the cards, depending on Alexandre Lacazette’s future. Alternatively, if Arsenal can find a way to clear their jam on the right back, that’s also a position they would be eager to strengthen.

Exchange agreements for Emerson Royal of Barcelona and Kieran Trippier of Atlético de Madrid have been discussed, but they are not close, as Athletic reports.

With little time in the window, the Gunners have once again cornered themselves, with high fan expectations and very little to celebrate to date.
