The local support that attended Tottenham’s win over Manchester City tonight made sure to send a clear message to striker Harry Kane.

The son makes the difference

The big game on the opening weekend of the Premier League came to an end just a short time ago.

The clash in question saw Nuno Espirito Santo’s Spurs host champion Manchester City in North London, for a highly anticipated showdown.

Both parties addressed the proceedings with key artists who were not available for selection, with host Tottenham confirming before kick-off that Harry Kane would play no role, while Pep Guardiola was unable to turn to players such as Phil Foden or Kevin De Bruyne. (fit just enough for the bank).

And, when all was said and done in the capital, it was the first who finally dealt best with the absence of their talisman.

A solid defensive performance, during which they restricted an ever-dangerous City team to just a handful of chances, saw the Spurs deservedly rewarded with the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of the second half.

After being slipped on the right, Heung-min Son slashed in with his left foot, before bending a perfect one-inch effort through Ruben Dias’s legs and into the far post:

That, in turn, was how things stayed until the final whistle, when the Nuno era got off to a perfect start in North London.

‘You’re watching?’

Although his attack ultimately proved decisive in the capital, it was not actually the name of Tottenham’s forward Heung-min Son that made the headlines in the later part of the action that came to an end on Sunday.

Instead, the player who took center stage in the post-game talk was, unsurprisingly, Lilywhites’ partner, Harry Kane.

England international Kane was not involved in the proceedings tonight, after he was reportedly considered He has not yet reached the levels of physical condition required by Nuno and company.

Many, however, were quick to suggest that this represented little more than a cover-up, as Kane, of course, received a strong suggestion to move to Manchester City all summer long.

In turn, during action at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the home fans in attendance were eager to send a clear message to their long-time star man.

With the Spurs holding a well-deserved 1-0 lead, the club’s fans came together to sing a chorus of “Are you seeing Harry Kane?”
