The first goal in the post-Messi era in Barcelona was recently scored, in a totally poetic way.
Messi goes ahead
Of course, the evolution of the Camp Nou has occupied a central place in the media for the last two weeks.
This comes after the explosive announcement that, after two decades at the club, Lionel Messi would definitely put an end to his time at Barcelona this summer.
Just hours after it was widely reported that a contractual agreement between the two parties was close, the Blaugrana released a statement, admitting that they had essentially been left with no choice but to part ways with the best player in club history.

Messi, in turn, went on to put pen to paper in a deal with French PSG, joining players like Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi on their way to Parc des Princes ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. . .
Messi’s departure, however, only marks the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the drama that has unfolded lately in Catalonia.
Surprisingly, in the midst of a financial crisis stemming from years of poor decisions on both the transfer and contract front, Barcelona, until this weekend, was unable to register some of the club’s summer additions to the club’s team. Ronald Koeman for La Liga.
In turn, with only 24 hours before his first game of the season against Real Sociedad, all of Memphis Depay, Eric García and Sergio Agüero (currently injured) were technically ineligible to take the field.
This, however, was only until it became known that a wonderful gesture of self-denial on the part of Gerard Piqué had managed to resolve the situation.
In a statement through the club’s social media platforms, Barça confirmed that:
FC Barcelona can register Memphis, Eric García and Rey Manaj to play in the Spanish Professional Soccer League. This has been possible thanks to an agreement with Gerard Piqué by which the salary of the second captain of Barça has been substantially reduced.

I hammered on the door
And, as noted above, if Memphis Depay has been quick to make up for the kindness of his new teammate.
Koeman’s men are currently locked in action at the Camp Nou, in a league match with Real Sociedad.
The clash, of course, marks the first of a competitive nature for the Blaugrana since Messi’s departure, with Koeman and company, as things stand, leading by a goal to nil.
The man who found the target? Pique. The player who set you up? Depay.
Just within the 20 minute mark in Catalunya, Barça’s talented summer addition launched a sumptuous set-piece delivery in the heart of the Society area.
And steaming to nod beyond Alex Remiro was that man Piqué, causing joyous celebrations throughout the Camp Nou and beyond:
Piqué accepts a pay cut to help his club, scores his first goal of the season and then kisses the shield in celebration! 👏
