The problems of the Arsenal striker
The Gunners battled in front of goal last season, scoring just 55 Premier League goals. As a result, despite having the third best defensive record, they finished in a disappointing eighth place.
His creative troubles are well documented, and a move is apparently in the works for Martin Odegaard. However, later on, could there be more radical changes?
Lacazette and Aubameyang both doubts for next weekend
Hours before their first game of the season, Arsenal were deprived of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the pair were ruled out for an unspecified illness.
🚨 Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his teammate, forward Alexandre Lacazette, are not feeling well and will therefore not be available for the opening match of the new Premier League season in Brentford tonight. @AthleticUK #AFC #BrentfordFC #BREARS https://t.co/RFFL2fWNPH

Following a disappointing 2-0 loss to the new Brentford boys, more bad news compounded their misery, with Football.London reporting that both remain doubts for the Gunners’ next game, against Chelsea at The Emirates.

The club itself would not be attracted to the situation, Arteta simply said that:
“[Aubameyang and Lacazette] I’m not feeling well, that’s all I can say. “
Mikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports about the absence of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: “They feel bad, that’s all I can say.”

Unsurprisingly, Arsenal fans were quick to speculate on the couple’s future, which so often seems inseparable.
Aubameyang and Lacazette as they are ruled out of a game in 8 days is all kinds of funky.
There is no help to speculate, as it must be serious.

I think Lacazette and Aubameyang have had a big dispute with the coach, this doesn’t seem right… or the club is trying to sell them both….

Are Aubameyang and Lacazette already ruled out of the Chelsea game due to illness? More than a week to go. How do we know they are going to be sick a week in advance?
Either we are trying to get rid of them, or they have rebelled against Arteta. Or both. Only logical explanations.

Definitely something strange is happening with Lacazette and Aubameyang.
How can you know more than a week in advance that they will still be sick unless it is very serious?
Coincidentally, they are also the 2 best teammates in the club …

Clearly, then, Arsenal’s fanbase (perhaps enraged by the club’s lack of transparency on the matter), has speculated on the worst possible result. They are not the only ones either, as Mirror reports that Aubameyang’s career at Arsenal could have ended with the club “ready to sell” their captain.

If both were somehow displaced outside the club, what would the Gunners’ attack line look like?
Tammy Abraham waits against the ropes
One player who has been linked to Arsenal for much of the summer is Chelsea underdog Tammy Abraham, who has barely appeared with Thomas Tuchel since January.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal “are still in the running” for Abraham, but Roma “have an agreement” for the English striker.
AS Roma has an agreement with Chelsea for Tammy Abraham: 40 million euros plus accessories in a permanent agreement. Chelsea wants a buyback clause to be included. 🔵 #CFC

Would he be the man to return Arsenal to European venues?
More minutes for Martinelli?
Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli could be the last youngster pushed front and center (figuratively, if not literally), with additional minutes potentially available if Aubameyang leaves the club. The Brazilian is highly regarded among the fan base, but at just 20 years old, he may have a hard time impressing alongside the equally young Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
Exits or not, it is clear that Arsenal have a big problem for the future and that solutions must be found imminently.
