According to Romano, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked to interest in the Spanish, but current financial struggles across Europe that have affected both Spanish giants have made it difficult for City to move away from Laporte this summer. The Barça cannot pay any agreement that can be discussed, while the Real is not in the market of a central although Raphäel Varane left in jet towards the red side of the Manchester.
It was also mentioned that Manchester City offered Laporte to Tottenham, in a player contract, more cash for Harry Kane only to be turned down by the North London team. Laporte looks set to persist under Guardiola this season, although the longevity of his career at Etihad is questionable.
Guardiola remains firmly interested in the ‘exceptional’ Harry Kane
In another protracted transfer saga involving Manchester City, Interest in Harry Kane remains a constant in regards to coach Pep Guardiola.
Despite Kane finally showing up for training and potentially online to play for Nuno Espírito Santo’s team against Guardiola at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. But regardless of that possibility, Pep remains in awe of Kane, a player he considers “exceptional.”
Apparently it is also a match made in heaven. Kane’s well-known desire to fight for the highest honors is public, while Manchester City have remained interested in securing his services throughout the summer, but even Guardiola will not wait forever if Spurs continue to delay any progress in the negotiations.
“He (Kane) is a Tottenham Hotspur player and if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, it’s over. I think that Man City and many clubs in the world want to try to sign him, we are not an exception, but it depends on Tottenham.
He is different from Jack (Grealish). Had liberation [clause] and Jack is different. Harry is exceptional and we are interested in him, but if Tottenham do not want to negotiate, nothing more to say ”.
Manchester City youngster Liam Delap could aim for the championship; several interested clubs
Although Manchester City has yet to secure a replacement for veteran hitman Sergio Agüero, City could be prepared to send young forward Liam Delap on loan this season.
Delap has been prolific for the Citizens at the youth level, scoring 24 goals in 20 appearances last season in Premier League 2. Although he has already made his full debut with Guardiola, a hopeful deal for Harry Kane and the continued existence of Gabriel Jesus would limit Delap’s involvement to the point where his development could suffer.
The championship Derby Country has been reported to hold an interest in the 18-year-old forward, along with at least two other clubs in the vein of West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City. Delap himself is also happy to trust the club in the way they handle their development, according to the player.
Liam Delap in his #City man future: “It depends on the club. What has happened so far has been amazing and I am confident that you will make the right decision. I have been extremely happy with everything in @City manI’m very happy and I’ll see what the club wants me to do … ” [via @SkySportsNews]

Although the Derby is subject to a transfer embargo, the Championship team can still sign players on one-year loan contracts, and that option could suit Wayne Rooney, with the former Manchester United star eager to bring Delap back. to the club;
“Liam Delap is a player that I really like. He’s got Derby connections, he went through the Academy here. Regardless of what Manchester City is doing with Liam, we are also at the top and with James Garner and Teden Mengi, different players from different clubs, we are at the top.
Ultimately, it’s in those clubs to see us as a suitable club for their players to come and develop, so we have to wait and see those players. “
